Rich text Rich text controls display an input field in which users can create, edit, save, and display rich text on a page. Rich text fields are more versatile that plain text fields because they can contain objects, file attachments, or pictures as well as text with formatting options such as italics or boldface. At run time, rich text fields look similar to edit box or multiline edit box fields, but they also display a formatting toolbar with options for changing fonts, inserting tables, aligning text, inserting links and file attachments, and more.
